I make bricks and brick-like objects. My ceramic experimentation stems from a material interest. When these materials are in the environment of the kiln, their unique qualities emerge and interact. My intent is to show that these materials can change when they experience enough heat energy. The created objects strengthen, weaken, crack, melt, and blend in accordance to their respective elemental compositions. When cooled, their reactions are captured as a mysterious gesture: a triumph, a collapse, an embrace.
